Mr. LeRoy Vincent
December 6, 1958 - June 28, 2019
Leroy Vincent, age 60, of Grand Prairie, Texas died suddenly on June 28, 2019 at the Medical Center of Arlington. Leroy, affectionately called Roy, was born December 6, 1958 to Nathaniel and Johnnie Mae Vincent. He graduated from DeVry University with a degree in Information Systems. He attended weekend classes, while working a 40 hour work week and raising five children because he wanted them to understand the value of an education. Roy, an avid bowler, enjoyed competitive sports. Capable of repairing practically everything, he constantly received calls for assistance. Always bearing an open ear, he readily dispensed solid advice supported by sound judgement. He had the ability to dissect complicated issues and allow his peers to become receptive to alternate routes of problem solving. He was systematic and steadfast, a man who lived by the protocol of policy and procedure. On a personal level, he was a loyal friend, a loving brother, and a respectful son. He was a father who led by example, demonstrating to his children the importance of practicing what you preach. He was a gentle loving husband who never raised his voice, and never broke his promises. He is preceded in death by his loving father Nathaniel. Left to continue his legacy are wife, Anita; mother, Johnnie Mae Vincent; daughters: Tenika (Shomari) and Brittany (Cleophus); two sons: Edward and Nathaniel; Siblings: Johnny Lee (Joyce) Vincent of Barton, AR; Clarence (Patricia) Vincent of Moreno Valley, CA; Creola (Travis) Stith of Stuttgart, AR; Nadine Johnson of Little Rock, AR; Raydell (Janice) Vincent of Perris, California; Zenna (Oliver) Smith of Forrest City, AR; Michael (Trinia) Vincent of Antelope Valley, California; Vernon (Bonita) Vincent of Fort Worth, Texas; Carolyn (Brady) Turner of Brandywine, MD; Joey(Thurza) Vincent of Grand Prairie, Texas; and Stanley (Enjoli) Vincent of Mansfield, Texas We respectfully request that you remember Roy and the fullness of his life. On more than one occasion, he could be heard stating, " I bring joy." Let his laughter ring in your hearts. He will be missed. Remember that life is filled with uncertainties, but the one thing we are certain of is that we will love him the rest of our lives. God's Garden God looked around his garden And found an empty place. He then looked down upon the earth, And saw your tired face. He put His arms around you And lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew that you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough And the hills were hard to climb. So He closed your weary eyelids And whispered “Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone… For part of us went with you The day God called you home.
