    Larry Sandvig

    April 1, 1960 - March 11, 2017

Sargent First Class (ret.) Larry Merle Sandvig passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at his Grand Prairie home. Larry was born in Mankato, MN on April 1, 1960 to Merlyn Sandvig and Georgia (Hysell) Sandvig. He was the second of three children. Larry traveled the world while serving 20 years in the United States Armed Forces. As a dedicated soldier, he earned several awards and recognitions during his service. After retirement, he continued to support the military through his design and development of shooting ranges and targeting systems. His interest in building then drew him into the construction industry where he remained until he was welcomed into Heaven by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Larry was an avid sportsman and outdoor enthusiast. He Loved hunting, fishing, and barbequing with family and friends. He could often be found at the lake or nearby park walking with his wife and three dogs. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He touched the hearts and lives of all who knew him, and he will be forever missed but never forgotten. He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Trish; his daughter, Lacey Haar; his son, Brett Sandvig and wife Andrea; his sister Gwen Domas and husband Craig; his sister Kari Schnobrich and husband Gordy; and his beloved grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. A private service will be held by the family.
