Frances Robinson McGill
July 22, 1942 - May 10, 2022
We celebrate the life and legacy of Mrs. Frances Robinson McGill, a faithful servant of the Lord whose impact and legacy will leave an incredible mark on time and eternity. Frances was born to the late Walter Robinson Jr. and Helen Carter Robinson on July 22, 1942, in Sand Field Texas. Frances professed her faith in Jesus Christ and accepted him as her Lord and Savior at an early age and remained a committed Christian for the rest of her life. Frances became a member of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship on June 7, 1989. Frances graduated from Douglas High School, Sulphur Springs, Texas. She received a bachelor’s degree from Prairie View A&M University and a Master of Business Administration from Texas Women’s University. Frances worked with several federal agencies including the Department of Labor where she was selected to lead the investigation of “The Glass Ceiling for Women and Minorities”. Since retirement Frances served as a Consultant and Life Coach. Frances was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., on April 23, 1983, through the Dallas Alumnae Chapter, where she has been active with Social Action, Mini-Projects, Social, Jabberwock, TASPers youth group, and Delta Dears committees. She also served as Secretary of the Women’s Council of Dallas County, Texas. Frances served in various roles for many years as a volunteer at The Heads Up! Foundation’s summer youth basketball and enrichment camps. Frances had a life well-lived. Her bold personality was infectious, it came through as she greeted you with her beautiful smile and the offer of an encouraging word. We all know how much she loved the Lord, and her interaction with others was guided by the words from the Bible. There was no denying how much she loved people because she told you and it was felt through her warm embrace. If you needed a cheerleader, she was your greatest and wanted you to strive to be your best self. We are grateful for the beautiful memories we think of her. Frances is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves to celebrate her life and carry out her legacy, her Husband of 54 years James E. McGill, her beloved and cherished daughter Sonja McGill, sister Imogene McGee, host of love daughters, nieces, and nephews, cousins, colleagues, and friends. Favorite scriptures of Frances McGill Philippines 4:23 - The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen Ephesians 6: 10-17 - Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
